During the day, solar panels capture sunlight and convert it into Direct Current (DC) electricity.
Inverter Converts DC to AC

A grid-tied inverter converts the DC electricity into Alternating Current (AC) — the form of electricity used by most appliances in your home or business.
Electricity Powers Your Home

The converted AC power is sent to your home’s main distribution board.

Your appliances run on solar power first.

If the solar output is less than your need, you automatically draw the difference from the grid.

If the solar output is more than your need, extra electricity is sent back to the grid.
